Append the string -scOfflineOnly to the GTAV shortcut target. Steps in order. Make a shortcut for GTAV if you have not already. Right click the shortcut. Select properties. In the "target" box, add -scOfflineOnly to the end. It should look like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\PlayGTAV.exe" -scOfflineOnly.
They can both detect the mods and ban you if the mods are currently installed in your game folder. However some mods won't allow you to play online while they're installed (I believe OpenIV is an example of this) to prevent this from happening. Rockstar has a simple stand on the matter - No mods online. So remove any mods before you play online.

Script Hook V uses a fake dinput8.dll to hook itself into GTA V, the game loads it because by default win32 applications link to whatever appropriately named dll is sitting next to the executable. Wine forces applications to uses it's own libraries instead for compatibility reasons, the command above overrides that specifically for dinput8.

Big issues only happen when you get mod conflicts / poorly written scripts. Also, make 2 copies of GTA V and don't use all that 'mod' folder sh*t.

Jan 28, 2018 · All mods in GTA V Online are bannable and if you're banned said ban cannot be appealed. Rockstar has a 2 strike policy. The first time you get banned your account gets reset (excluding shark card money) and you get banned for 30 days. Second ban is permanent. I wouldn't try modding if I was you.
